Airlink Cargo, a Division of Airlink (Pty) Ltd, a privately owned regional airline, provides air freight transport directly to more than 40 destinations across Southern Africa. Through its diverse network and strategic partnerships, Airlink Cargo has the ability to provide its customers with the freedom to connect cargo to numerous destinations domestically within South Africa, internationally across Southern Africa, and internationally to the world from its outstations.
Airlink Cargo’s Journey
In 1992 Airlink Cargo International was established as a cargo ground handler for Airlink, and other international carriers.
In 2011 Airlink Cargo International (Pty) Ltd became a Division of SA Airlink (Pty) Ltd.
Airlink has a fleet of more than 50 modern commercial jetliners on the widest network of more than 55 routes to 40 destinations in 10 African countries and St Helena Island.
In 2012 Airlink and WFS entered into a joint venture agreement and AFS was established – AFS conducts cargo handling for Airlink Cargo in JNB and CPT. In 2019 AFS changed their name to WFS to align themselves with their Worldwide International standards.
The advantage of using an air transport service with a distribution network such as Airlink Cargo’s is that it provides different options to either send cargo point-to-point direct from one airport to another; or to utilize via connections through other airports.
